Sustainable Heath South West
The Sustainable Health South West Project
Coordinated by SustNav, in partnership with NHS
South of England (South West), the Sustainable Health South West project was set up in 2009. The project supports sustainability leads from NHS Trusts across the South West and South Central areas, to better integrate sustainability into their daily workings and service delivery. In addition to a monthly e-bulletin, quarterly network meetings provide an opportunity for trusts to share learning and news and to get updates on regional and national developments. External leads and 'experts' are also invited to share the latest thinking, evidence and developments on integrating sustainability into health delivery.
Sustainable Health SW also works to strengthen connections between health and the wider sustainability agenda, in particular through links between public health and agendas like community development, green infrastructure enhancement and climate change adaptation and mitigation.
The project is engaging in the current NHS transition process, supporting NHS public health colleagues to better integrate into their new local authority settings.
