Invitation to join Sustainability South West's Board Membership - CLOSED FOR APPLICATIONS

13/10/2009 16:14

Please note, applications have now closed.

Sustainability South West Board MembersSustainability South West (SSW) is the region’s independent Champion Body for sustainable development. A registered charity, the organisation has a ten year track record of promoting a truly sustainable region – one which is ‘resilient, healthy, productive, socially-just and living within environmental limits’ (see About SSW for information about SSW’s work over the past decade).

SSW’s work is steered by a board of members (who include the charity’s trustees) and is supported by a staff team. The charity often works in partnership with other organisations that have a stake in delivering sustainability.

A number of Board Members have now moved from the region or changed their portfolios and SSW is looking for enthusiastic advocates from a range of sectors to join our membership. Membership is an opportunity to exchange ideas, make connections, inform practical projects and spot challenges and opportunities for your sector.

SSW would like to hear from individuals with experience and influence in the following areas: media/communication; higher education; food production; local community action; energy production; regeneration; transport and governance. SSW is particularly keen to welcome new members with a private sector background to complement the current make-up of its vibrant cross-sector membership, but all applications would be very welcome.
